The National
Union For Democracy and Progress- NUDP of Maigari Bello Buba which has embarked on a nationwide reorganization of some of its basic organs is making formidable
progress in some parts of the North West region. The crusade, championed in the
region by its dynamic and charismatic youth leader, Dr. Ndasi Elvis has so far
yielded remarkable fruits with several militants of other political parties
decamping from their parties to find solace in the UNDP.
In one of such
events to reorganize and install leaders of newly created branches and sub
section in Momo Division, the former APF Councilor for mbengwi, Tanyong Akum
Jacob public resigned from Ben Muna’s APF. Citing gross deception and lack
political will in the party, Tayong said he was disillusion by what some
politician put on paper and never put into practice. According to him, the UNDP
was the only party that could take his people out of the quack mire of
underdevelopment.
Welcoming him
into the folk of the UNDP, Dr. Ndasi told the impressive crowd at the occasion
that no political party is bad as such, but the people who stir the affairs of
the party could be bad. He cautioned them to make wise choices and to lend
their support to those who obey their promises and can deliver the goods.
According to him, no government belongs to a political part, but to the people.
This explains why the UNDP is in government not in the CPDM. He beseeched
people to be able to make the distinction. He wondered aloud why some people
would accept to serve in the legislature, local government but refuse to serve
in the executive arm of the very government.
He further
called on the newly installed UNDP leaders in Momo to be fishers of men and not
to relent efforts to ensure that the party maintains its steady growth in the
Division. Describing the people of Momo as pacesetters, Dr. Ndasi Elvis
exhorted them to be peace loving, law abiding and to ensure that the UNDP light
burns continuously in their hearts.
Other speakers
included Maidadi, UNDP Central Committee member who indicted the powers that be
for failing to unite Cameroonian after fifty years. According to him, the fact
that up to date, many Cameroonians cannot express themselves in English and
French is a mark of failure and the fact the unity of this country has not been
taken seriously by the powers that be. UNDP, he said would work toward making
Cameroon a perfect bilingual country and would ensure that tribe, linguistic
barriers, religion or race are an issue in this country.
While assuring
the officials from the NUDP of their determination to invade Momo in favour of the NUDP, the
Chairman of the adhoc committee in charge of reorganization, Mudoh Walters
called on party officials to organize a two days working tour of the Division
to better galvanize the population.
